Paul Hegdal Records--
Paul L. Hegdal worked as a wildlife biologist at the Denver Wildlife Research Center from the 1959 to 1991. This group of records contains materials related to studies on hazards to nontarget wildlife associated with the use of rodenticides, rodent resistant cable materials, and rodent problems in Latin America.
Robinson, Weldon, 2008
Weldon Robinson reminisces about his career as a wildlife research biologist working for the U.S. Forest Service, Biological Survey, Denver Wildlife Research Center (DWRC), and USDA's, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Wildlife Services. He discusses his work in wildlife damage control where he worked to control coyotes and rats by using trapping and toxicants. Robinson talks about field research, his work overseas, and his dislike of toxicant research.
Sam Linhart Records--
Sam Linhart worked as a biologist in the predator control research section at the Denver Wildlife Research Center from 1964 to 1990. This collection contains materials from his studies related to predator control. Research records on electric fencing, leghold traps, the electronic guard, the 1080 toxic collar, livestock protection dogs, the M-44, and tranquilizer tabs for wild carnivore traps are included. This collection also contains images related to Linhart’s research.
Series I: Records, 1935 - 2012
Series I contains annual reports, work plans, research data, correspondence, memorandum, and news clippings. Topics covered in this series include control of rodents in sugarcane and macadamia orchards and control of coqui frogs and feral swine. Also included are rodent control reports from the BBS, as well as reports from the Hawaiian Sugar Planters’ Association.
Series II: Images, 1968 - 2005
Series II contains slides and photographs from the Hawaii Field Station. Topics covered include control of the Brown Tree Snake on Guam, rodent control in sugarcane and macadamia orchards, and field and lab work.
Series III: Histories, 1914 - 1970
Series III contains historical informationa about wildlife control in Nevada and New Mexico, and a file about women scientists in the federal service
Series III: Rat Barriers and Repellent Tests, 1944 - 1971
Series III consists of two boxes of records relating to rat barriers and rodent repellents, including studies, reports and correspondence. All of the research represented in this series was conducted either with or for outside organizations, U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps or private companies.
