Abstract

In 2008, National Wildlife Research Center archivist and records manager Nancy Freeman began interviewing retirees from the Denver Wildlife Research Center. The objective of the project was to capture institutional history as well as the individual experiences of the retirees. Between 2008 and 2012, Freeman conducted interviews with research and administrative retirees in Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. The interviews highlighted the retirees' careers, education, research, and administrative responsibilities spanning nearly 50 years, beginning in the 1940s, and help tell the Center’s story. Retiree interviews were halted when Freeman left in 2013, but were resumed in late 2014.

Arrangement

NWRC Retirees Oral History Collection is arranged into multiple series: Retiree Oral History Records 2008-2012, Project Records 2011-2012, and Accruals for 2015-2019. Series were arranged by the year in which the interview took place and divided into subseries, one for each interviewee. Subseries are arranged in alphabetical order.
