Biographical / Historical

Gale J. Halvorson was born in Roseau, Minnesota on January 23, 1939. After earning his B.S. in Elementary Education, he taught fifth and sixth grade in three different schools in Minnesota while working on his M.E. in Elementary Administration during the summer months. Upon completion of his M.E., he took a year off and worked in Idaho fighting fires for the Forestry Service. Halvorson began his trapping career early, at the age of five. But it wasn't... until he retired from elementary administration in 1998 that he began working for Wildlife Services as a trapper. Halvorson, an avid sports fan, is married to LouElla and has two sons.
