Biographical / Historical
Diana Dwyer was born on May 1, 1951 in Albany, New York. In 1963, her father got a position in Texas and her family moved to Houson. She attended Texas Women’s University and the University of Texas. She left college and moved to Germany with her husband, where she got a job working as a librarian at the military base. Eventually, she moved back to the United States, finished college, and earned a Master's in Library Science from the University of Denver. In the early 1980s, Diana became a research librarian at the Denver Wildlife Research Center. As her career progressed, she became a Technical Information Specialist at the center and she also took part in the Women’s Executive Leadership Program. In her retirement, she is going into the Masters Naturalist Program and volunteering in environmental education.

Diana Dwyer worked as a librarian and Technical Information Specialist at the National Wildlife Research Center. She discusses her experiences working in a male-dominated field and the vast changes she saw in information technology throughout her career at the NWRC.
