Depredations Control Image Collection
The Depredations Control Image Collection (NWRC 0026) consists of slides, photos, and negatives dated 1928 to 1994 that document research activities related to predator contol by the Animal Damage Control (ADC) unit. Included are images of aerial control, coyotes, sheep, frightening devices, traps, sheep necropsy, lures, repellents, telemetry studies, and toxic sheep collars.
DO Completed Project Collection --
This collection contains completed NWRC research project documentation. The plans/proposals and reports are created by the project leader. Once a NWRC research project is completed, the final report is circulated through the Director’s Office for approval. Once the final project document is signed and approved the entire project record is submitted to the IRG archives.
Dwyer, Diana L., 2014 - 2015
Diana Dwyer worked as a librarian and Technical Information Specialist at the National Wildlife Research Center. She discusses her experiences working in a male-dominated field and the vast changes she saw in information technology throughout her career at the NWRC.

Mammal Damage Unit Records --
Over the years, the Mammal Damage Unit of the DWRC/NWRC conducted research on coyote predation on livestock; rodent damage to crops, rangeland, and buried cables; and damage to timber production and reforestation efforts caused by deer, bear, and rodents, particularly pocket gophers. The Unit also studied the use of pesticides as well as methods to identify and develop non-lethal or non-chemical alternative management methods for specific wildlife problems.
