Abstract The predecessor of the Bureau of Biological Survey (BBS) was established under the Department of Agriculture in 1885 to study the economic relation of birds to agriculture. Abstract

This collection contains approximately 1000 photographs and 20 posters pertaining to USFWS animal control activities, primarily in the Midwest from the 1920s up to 1966. Much of the focus of the collection is on rat control, but many other species are represented as well.

Scope and Contents The Philippines Field Station Records contains documents dated 1968-1980. This collection consists primarily of research records pertaining to rodent control efforts in the Philippines. Series I contains annual reports, work plans, research data, correspondence, memorandum, and news clippings. Topics covered in this series include control of rodents in sugarcane and macadamia orchards and control of coqui frogs and feral swine. Also included are rodent control reports from the BBS, as well as reports from the Hawaiian Sugar Planters’ Association.

Scope and Contents

Series II contains slides and photographs from the Hawaii Field Station. Topics covered include control of the Brown Tree Snake on Guam, rodent control in sugarcane and macadamia orchards, and field and lab work.
