The Division of Economic Ornithology and Mammalogy was established by Dr. C. Hart Merriam and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in 1886. Along with Dr. A.K. The WS Nebraska and Texas State Office Slides Collection consists of two series of 35mm slides that are arranged alphabetically across seven boxes. The slides date from 1959 to 1996, with the bulk between 1980 and 1990. They document rodents, birds, predators, livestock, dogs, wildlife damage, animal damage control projects, and people.
