It covers the development of the Invasive Species Research Building from planning to completion. Abstract
The purpose of the Invasive Species Research Building project was to develop a research facility to be used to combat the nation’s growing invasive species problem. It would be used to study these species and formulate methods for controlling their spread and damage. It included laboratory space, a cage washing facility, a necropsy room, and climate-controlled animal rooms. The project was initiated in the summer of 2002 and was headed up by William Dusenberry, the Program Manager for Facility Planning and Development at the NWRC. The planning phase of development was completed in 2004 and construction began in 2005. The bulk of construction was completed in December of 2006, at which time a turnover ceremony and tour were held. Small alterations and additions were made to the building up through 2008, including and undertaking to reduce the amount of noise produced by the building exhaust stacks after complaints from the neighboring CSU campus.
Arrangement
The collection is organized into four series: Series I: Pre-Construction, Series II: Construction, Series III: BEAAP Noise Abatement, and Series IV: Operations and Maintenance Manuals. All series are arranged in the original order that was determined by the records creator William Dusenberry.
