Series IV: Small Mammal Studies consists of eight boxes of records dated 1968 to 2013 and is divided into five subseries. Subseries 1: Black-footed Ferrets contains records dated 1977-2013 and includes research data, reports, notes from Black-footed Ferret Advisory Team Meetings, project correspondence, Black-footed Ferret Recovery Plans, Ferret GonaCon Vaccine study data, and home range data analysis records. Series 2: Black-tailed Jackrabbits is a small subseries pertaining to food habits and population densities of black-tailed jackrabbits. Document in subseries 2 are dated 1972-1980. Subseries 3: Ground Squirrels includes records dated 1968-1987 related to studies in Montana and Kremmling, CO. Topics in this subseries include zinc phosphide testing, home range data, growth and development data, and ground squirrel vocalizations. Subseries 4: Pocket Gophers consists of records related to pocket gopher cable testing and poison trials dated 1977 to 1998. Subseries 5: Prairie Dogs contains documents dated 1970-2000 pertaining to prairie dog food habit studies.
