Series V: Visual and Audio Materials, 1940-2000, contains bird damage unit research in the form of digitized audio recordings, vinyl records, reel-to-reel tapes, hundreds of photos and negatives,and more than 6,000 slides.

Box 1 contains CD copies of Bird Unit recordings.

Boxes 4 through 10 contain the Bird Unit Slide collection and are arranged alphabetically by file unit.

Boxes 11 through 17 contain 5-inch reel-to-reel recording tapes, arranged by their originally assigned numeric order.

Non-numbered tapes follow the numbered tapes and are arranged alphabetically.

An index to sounds recorded by the bird unit is located in box 18.

Boxes 18 and 19 contain 7-inch reel-to-reel recording tapes, arranged by their originally assigned numeric order.

Non-numbered tapes follow the numbered tapes and are arranged alphabetically.

Box 23 contains recordings on 4-inch reel-to-reel tapes, 3-inch reel-to-reel tapes, a 7-inch reel Helical Scan tape, 8-track tapes, audio cassettes, and a microcassette. Items are arranged alphabeticaly by title and material type. The majority of these materials came from Ed Knittle.
