Scope and Contents
This collection ranges from 1886 to 1983. It consists of 31 boxes and documents the work, research findings, institutional goals and policies, and other general information about the Division of Economic Ornithology and Mammalogy, Division of Biological Survey, Bureau of Biological Survey, and the Fish and Wildlife Service. The collection includes farmer’s bulletins, which were written in a non-technical style, technical bulletins, circulars, and leaflets. Many of these publications were written in order to provide agency employees and the public with research-based guidance on wildlife damage management issues including the control of birds, small mammals, rodents, and predators. Annual reports from the different agencies are also included in the collection. These provide an account of the work performed by the agency and its research findings from the preceding fiscal year. Various other publications such as handbooks, policy manuals, and articles are included in the collection as well.
